Coney Island is changing. Although the iconic American playground is undergoing controversial large-scale development and gaining other new improvements, something more obvious happens in October: it gets colder. The crowds dissipate and the rides close, prompting many other shops to shutter until summer comes again.
But not this store. Williams Candy has been a fixture of Coney Island for 75 years. While recording an audio postcard from Coney, we met the current owner, Peter Agrapides, and discovered how he keeps his business open all year.
